MULE DEER HUNTING

New Mexico Hunting Adventures offers Mule Deer hunting across New Mexico. Your chance at a trophy Mule Deer is great with us because we manage ranches with high populations of deer, which give you the opportunity to harvest the trophy of a lifetime. The weapon of choice is up to you but our rifle hunts are limited and book up very fast. The archery hunt provides the best opportunity for hunting deer during the rut.

We offer hunts on both public land and private land, and can accomodate over the counter tags for private property or hunters are applied in the state draw in early-to-mid-March for the public land quality/high demand deer hunts.

We also offer deer hunts as add-on's to our Elk trips. See the Elk Hunting page for pricing information on these hunts, or contact us to discuss the options.

Our hunting techniques vary from spot & stalk hunts and sitting over waterholes. You and your guide will work out the best suited technique for your success, based on the location, and time of year you're hunting.

COUES DEER HUNT

Spot & stalk hunting is the primary tool of the Coues deer hunter. Most hunters climb to a high vantage point before first light, then glass long and hard for moving bucks. The same technique is used in the evening. Binoculars in the 15x56 class are used by many serious Coues deer hunters to help them locate these miniscule deer at long distances; the minimum binocular power should be 10X. Coues deer are easily the most skittish deer species in North America. They have excellent eyesight, smell, and hearing, and will leave the country at the first hint of trouble. Hunter also will be able to test there marksmanship as Coues deer terrain sometimes makes it difficult to get a close shot.
